Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Concept

To celebrate the opening of a dedicated design centre Aston Martin presented the V12 Vantage RS. Aston Martin’s V8 Vantage coupe got various aerodynamic tweaks and a 6.0 litre V12 to boot. C.E.O. Ulrich Bez who unveiled the concept announced it will be produced given sufficient demand.

The carbon fibre bonnet and trunk keep the kerb weight under 1600 kg.  At the front there’s a vented hood to extract hot air from the engine while the bumper directs cool air to the ceramic brakes. Under the front bumper you find a carbon fiber splitter that provides additional down force. The carbon fiber boot lid with deployable spoiler increases down force at the back. The engine comes with a dry sump, tuned exhaust manifolds, forged pistons, revised cams, modified heads and a bit of racing pedigree. The 600bhp V12 reaches max power at 6250rpm and 690Nm of torque is available at 5000rpm. With a power-to-weight ratio of over 375 bhp per ton, the V12 powered Vantage is the fastest accelerating Aston Martin. As a result 0-62 mph takes just 4.0 seconds, 4.5 seconds later it’s travelling at 100mph.
