The 4.8 liters V8 from the Cayenne S gets an enlarged intake manifold and throttle butterfly and a power increase of 20 bhp. The 405 bhp strong engine now generates 369 lb-ft at 3,500 rpm. The Sports Button in the Porsche Cayenne GTS offers the choice between performance and fuel economy.

Sports Mode makes the throttle-response sharper, opens up the exhaust and switches the active suspension in Sports Mode. The six-speed manual from the Cayenne S gets a shorter final drive to improve acceleration. Acceleration to 60 mph takes just 5.7 seconds and the top speed is 157 mph.

The GTS is the first Cayenne with a combination of steel springs and Porsche’s high-tech adaptive damper system. The steel springs are firmer and there’s more negative camber on the front and rear wheels than on the Cayenne S. Like the PASM suspension on other Cayenne’s, Porsche Active Management Suspension can be combined with air suspension. The optional PDCC is able through its active anti-roll bars to build up appropriate support forces before the body starts swaying in a bend.

The front bumper provides ample air to the engine while the flared wheel accommodate the 21″ sport wheels running 295/35 tyres. 12-way adjustable sports seats in the front and individual seat contours for rear bench set the GTS interior apart from other Cayenne models.
