Gemballa Mirage GT

Gemballa Mirage GT based on the Porsche Carrera GT

Around 1500 Porsche Carrera GT’s have been built. Owners worried about the individuality of their GT could make an appointment with Gemballa.

The Carrera GT engine is a meaty 5.7-liter V10 boasting 612 horsepower. By modifying the engine management electronics, Gemballa has been able to squeeze out an extra 60 bhp and 15 lb-ft more torque, slicing off 0.1 seconds off the 0-62 mph run. The full stainless steel exhaust system ends in four tail pipes where the standard reverse and fog lights used to house. The two lamps were relocated beneath the diffuser.

The body of Gemballa’s Mirage GT is inspired by the Porsche Le Mans racers and made from carbon fiber. The additional air intakes in the new front spoiler and the additional spoiler lip. The bonnet has been replaced. Gemballa has replaced the standard side panels with its own design and fitted new side skirts with cooling vent for the rear breaks. The racing look is enhanced by the new rear skirt, with its aerodynamically optimized mid section for extra downforce on the rear axle. Most of the extra downforce is due to the rear wing that comes with a brake-flap. The Gemballa hardtop incorperates an air duct that supplies the enhanced V10-engine with more air to breathe.

The Gemballa Mirage GT sports a high-tech pair of “shoes”. Three-piece wheels with fully-milled spoke centre measuring 9.5 x 19˝ at the front and 12.5 x 20″ at the back. Excellent road holding is guaranteed on the front axle by 265/35 R19 tires and on the rear axle by 335/30 R20 tires.

The motor sports look is continued inside with a restyled carbon fibre central console and countless other carbon components. The redesigned central console comes with a multimedia touch-screen set up. What isn’t carbon fibre is either fine leather or luxury carpet. The modified steering wheel allows the driver to keep a grip.Specs:• Front Skirt MIRAGE GT• Front Spoiler Lip Carbon Black• Front Bonnet with Naca outlet• Front Fender Sideparts (A-Frame area)• Side Skirts with air intakes with GEMBALLA MIRAGE GT Logos• Rear Skirt with air outtakes with GEMBALLA MIRAGE GT Logos• Rear Skirt Diffusor middle adapter with integrated reverse light and fog light• Rear Spoiler with integrated Wing• Rear Exhaust Cover with larger air outtake and spoiler edges• Roof air intake with direct connection to the engineGEMBALLA Engine MIRAGE GT• 30-40 HP Power increasement• Exhaust System with 4 Tailpipes in special alloy designGEMBALLA Wheelset MIRAGE GT• Wheel Set GEMBALLA GT SPORT 19“ / 20“FA: 9,5 x 19“ Tires 265 / 35 ZR 19RA: 12,5 x 20“ Tires 335 / 30 ZR 20GEMBALLA Interior MIRAGE GT• New middle console with integrated stereo system, 6.5“ screen and touchscreen info-system• Carbon frame in center middle console with logo GEMBALLA MIRAGE GT No. XXX• Carbon frame blends in the front dashpanel section L / R• Alcantara Dashpanel• Carbon fibre Shiftknob• Alcantara covered door handles• Black Door openers• 340 mm Leather Steering Wheel with Alcantara grip area• MIRAGE GT Door logos• Alcantara Airbag covers• Alcantara Roof coversAdditional installed OptionsGEMBALLA Exterior Options MIRAGE GT• Additional driving lights• Rear View Camera• Black Mesh Grills for Engine Cover and Rear Skirt• Plasma coated tailpipes• Complete color change• Exterior Design Carbon PackageGEMBALLA Interior Options MIRAGE GT• Carbon Seatblends upper section L / R• BICOLOR Leather InteriorUwe Gemballa has specialized in outlandish Porsche-based creations for more than 25 years, and this could be his crowning glory. The original Carrera GT was an incredible supercar, yet felt on a knife’s edge at the limit, a mere twitch of the throttle away from a violent spin. The Mirage GT has a more sure-footed and forgiving feel, thanks to a massive dose of extra downforce. It’s the equivalent of two fat guys sitting on top of the car-without the obvious safety risks. The car has put in the hours at Stuttgart University’s wind tunnel to achieve this additional downforce. The adjustable front lip adds 55 pounds of downward thrust at 155 mph to balance the monumental 187 pounds of extra downforce at the rear, provided by the carbon wing. There’s more force, too, from the roof scoop, that avaricious air intake in front (with its extra tasks of aiding cooling and grip), and the side skirts now cool the brakes and press the car on to those new wheels that cost $26,000 a set. Incidentally, that’s cheaper than Porsche’s own units, which must now be banished to the corner of the garage. Thanks to a 68-bhp power hike from the ‘Ram Air’ system, an ECU remap and new exhaust with four exit pipes. It doesn’t change the zero-to-60 time of 3.5 seconds by more than a fraction, but the 5.7-liter V10 now muscles its way up to redline; the extra power kicks in when the machine really starts flying.conversion price beyond $276,000Inside, Gemballa will do whatever the customer dictates, from installing the rear-view reverse camera in a new center console to color coordinating the entire car, installing acres of carbon fiber and signed sports seats. So far, ten orders have come in and no two cars are alike.Behind the scenes, Gemballa is working on a twin-turbo Mirage GTR. It started out as a mere concept, but when one supremely wealthy Dubai-based customer was told he’d need to buy an engine to develop the dream into reality, he decided to bankroll the whole project. It’s still some way off, as the ceramic clutch that tends to explode under rough treatment will need to be replaced, and the whole drivetrain will need strengthening. Furthermore, Gemballa isn’t yet sure whether it will be able to take the full-bore, Veyron-baiting 1000-plus bhp it wants to install, or settle for a more sensible 750 to save the from engine melting. Brembo is also working on a set of new ceramic discs that fill the wheels entirely.Gemballa Mirage Gt*LayoutLongitudinal mid-engine,rear-wheel drive*Engine5.7-liter V10, dohc, 40-valve, Gemballa ram-air intake, exhaust, software*SuspensionPushrod suspension with double track control arms, no bushes*BrakesPorsche Carbon Ceramic Brake assemblies, six-piston calipers,15-inch rotors*Wheels and TiresGemballa 9.5×19 (f), 12.5×20 (r)Michelin Pilot Sport, 265/35 (f)335/30 (r)*ExteriorFront lip spoiler, side skirts, roof scoop, rear spoiler, rear apron*InteriorCarbon fiber door panel andconsole inserts, Gemballa sport seats, pedals, logo floor mats*PerformancePeak Power: 680 bhp @ 8000 rpmPeak Torque: 480 lb-ft @ 5750 rpm0-60 mph: 3.5 sec.
